Petzold, an artistic photographer, explores the regions of the world including Kenya, South Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Australia. She creates portraits of the majestic and dazzling blue universe.
Petzold’s palette – a kaleidoscope of living colors captured and preserved in scientific publications including National Geographic. Awarded a gold medal for international Underwater Photography in Egypt, Petzold is recognized for her nature and wildlife images.
Her travels have taken her to New Guinea, Indonesia, the red Sea, and the Solomon Islands where a new dive site, was named after her - “Ruthie’s Ridge.” She has worked closely with renown marine biologist, Dr. Eugenie Clark – “the Shark Lady.” Ruth blends the magic of the sea with her ingenuity and imagination creating stunning underwater portraits.
